Mr. Demby brings over 30 years of professional experience spanning strategy, marketing, sales, operations, and finance. His career includes work with some of the world’s most respected organizations, including IBM, Westinghouse, General Motors, JPMorgan Chase, The May Davis Group, and Accenture.
A true champion of small business, Mr. Demby has personally trained more than 15,000 entrepreneurs throughout his career. He has served in director-level roles at both the Queens Economic Development Corporation and the CAMBA Economic Development Corporation, where he led impactful small-business development initiatives and managed a CDFI loan fund.
He is the Founder and Lead Trainer of the Queens and New York StartUp! Business Plan Competitions, now celebrating 16 years of empowering entrepreneurs. He also leads marketing efforts and Business Services for the prestigious Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses initiative, helping drive growth and opportunity for business owners across the region.
Beyond his work in business development, Mr. Demby is a seasoned media personality. He is the former host of Brooklyn Community Access Television’s Sector B and served as MC for the television series World’s Greatest Motivators.
His impact has been widely recognized. He has received a citation from Eric Adams for his contributions to economic development in New York City. He has been named a “Mover and Shaker” by NV Magazine, honored as a “King of Queens” by Schneps Media, recognized by New York State for Corporate Social Responsibility in Diversity and Inclusion, and listed as a Notable Black Leader by Crain’s New York Business.
Mr. Demby holds a Bachelor of Arts in Engineering and Economics from Brown University and an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
