What is your role at EGF?

I joined Excelsior Growth Fund (EGF) and its affiliates in July of 2018. In my position, I work primarily with potential clients before and during their loan application process. I engage with them via phone and email to learn about their business, answer their questions, and determine which of our loan programs they would be a good fit for.

Once an application is started through our online portal, I work with the business owners to assemble required documentation for the underwriters to review their loan. Every client has a unique story and situation, and I help them include all relevant information in their loan application package.

Additionally, I speak with bankers, realtors, and CPAs to help them learn about our various programs so they can support their clients. I have also become a Notary Public to help the EGF staff with loan closings in the Capital Region.

What is your favorite part about working at EGF?

My favorite part of working at EGF is the people. All of EGF’s staff members are dedicated to the success of small businesses. You can see it in their enthusiasm, knowledge, and constant drive for improvement. Our team has a genuine care for all our clients.

What do you love about working with small businesses?

The best part of working with small businesses is being a part of each business’s story. Small businesses show the individual character and passions of not only their owners but also the community they are in. I am grateful to be a small part of a business’s success when they work with EGF.

What is something unique about you?

Something interesting about me is my mom is a small business owner. From a very young age, I watched my mom pour her heart and soul into her work. Through the good, bad, and ugly she persevered to provide excellent service to her clients and help keep a roof over our heads. Through her, I learned to appreciate what engaging with small businesses really means. You’re supporting employees’ families and children, from music lessons, to dance classes, and new shoes for the first day of school. Your purchase says you believe in the owner’s dreams and aspirations. It is where my desire to help each of our clients began.
