We’re excited to announce that our client Larry Robb, owner and CEO of FARM, LLC, has been named 2020 Small Business Person of the Year for the SBA Buffalo District! We were honored to co-nominate Larry for this award with our partner Lakeshore Savings Bank to recognize his relentless drive, passion for growth, and dedication to his community.
Larry will be honored alongside his fellow SBA award winners during the SBA’s annual National Small Business Week in May.
With Larry’s passion for growth, FARM and its employees have flourished. Growing from 35 employees in 2012 to more than 70 today, Larry has created a culture where his people thrive. The agency has been named a Best Place to Work for four consecutive years and has made the list for a total of eight years, demonstrating Larry’s commitment to not only growing his business, but also investing in those that continue to push it forward day after day.
Larry not only invests in his people, but also in his local community. He’s dedicated thousands of dollars as well as agency resources and his own time to local organizations that are important to him. Remarkably, Larry used his talents and experience in radio to spearhead Radio-A-Thons for the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital and the SPCA Serving Erie County, which continue to raise millions of dollars for the organizations each year.
Never one to rest on his laurels, Larry’s focus on growth continues to lead him to new opportunities. This past year, he started a new business on FARM’s nearly 18-acre campus with Clarksburg Cider and Farm. The business will produce hard cider in the facility that was formerly used for storage on FARM’s campus, and will be the first cidery in Lancaster, NY. Given Larry’s success thus far, we’re sure the cidery will continue to add jobs to the region as it grows.
Larry serves as an inspirational role model for entrepreneurs in the Western New York Community and beyond. He adeptly navigates changes and challenges in his industry, continuously invests in his employees, and takes pride in giving back to the community that’s supported him and his business.
